Armadale Castle

Armadale Castle, Gardens & Museum of the Isles

Welcome to Armadale, a breathtaking corner of the Isle of Skye. Explore spectacular gardens arranged around the ruins of Armadale Castle, then immerse yourself in history at the Museum of the Isles. Spend the day exploring, relaxing and making memories.

Sea to Skye

For many, Skye begins right here, a ten-minute walk from the Armadale ferry. Wander the gardens, explore the Museum and gaze across the Sound of Sleat, then stop for a bite or a drink. Come for an afternoon, or stay a while.

A Highland estate, 1,500 years in the making

Armadale sits at the heart of a 20,000-acre working estate, the ancestral home of Clan Donald and the Lords of the Isles. Wander gardens planted with trees from five continents, along woodland paths that wind past the castle ruins.

In the Museum of the Isles, the story of the Highlands unfolds - from the Picts and Somerled to the Jacobites, the Clearances and crofting.

"The ruins still exude grandeur, stunning gardens and a magnificent museum."
